Mr. Willie J. Hollins Jr. Ed.S Director of Bands

Hello, I am the Director of Bands here at Southwest Magnet High School and Law Academy. This is my first year as Head Director. I served 4 years as Assistant Director from 2001-2006. I left and became the Director of Bands at Dooly County Middle/High School from 2007-2013. From there I became the Director of Bands at Hephzibah High School in Augusta, Georgia from 2013-2020. As I returned to Macon, I became the Director of Bands at my alma mater Appling Middle School. 

I was born and raised in Macon, Georgia. I ama 1991 graduate of Northeast High School. I received my bachelor's degree from Fort Valley State University in Middle Grades Education with a minor in Music Education. I served on the band staff at Fort Valley State University from 1999-2006. I received my master's degree from Capella University in Curriculum and Instruction, and I earned my education specialist degree from Piedmont University in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Music Education. 

I am a member of Banneker Lodge #3 PHA Masons of Augusta, Georgia, Gamma Pi Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and I am a life member and a charter member of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Fraternity, Inc. Lambda Zeta Chapter Fort Valley State University.
